I am the surgery angel for Doreen!

    Hi,

I am just about to leave for the hospital to see Doreen! She had her surgery this morning and hopefully by now she is out of recovery!

I will keep you posted on how she is doing!

    Hugs,

    Doreen's being discharged this afternoon

    Hi everyone!

Much to my amazement, Doreen is being discharged as we speak. I am so proud of her, and she's been through a lot, but I know that she will be so happy that she has the gastric bypass!

I've been by her bedside since Monday afternoon, and she's waiting for her husband to come and get her which will be in the next hour or so. She's doing SO fabulous, and I am SO PROUD of her! I sure wish I had it as easy as she has! Now she knows that the staff at Southampton Hospital, not to mention Dr. Allam, were so kind to her! She was so happy about that and tried to remember everyone by name! She's so cute!

Well, just bringing everyone up to speed, and when she's up to it, I'm giving her a crash course on how to navigate and use this message board, because it's been a wonderful place for me an I"m not even 11 months out!

Thanks for the well-wishes for Doreen, and I'll pass it along to her! I hope she and I can make the next month's support group meeting.

Please keep Doreen in your thoughts and prayers!

    Love her surgery angel ,

    3new My surgery.....2 YEARS later!!!

Not sure why Cathy wrote the misleading things about my (difficult) 4 1/2 hr
surgery (1/14/08) for my gastric bypass! I also never knew she told anyone about how I was doing at all. I do feel bad I never thanked those who wished me well.....had I known, I would have. I was in such bad shape and had a serious infection before I left the hospital! I had to have wound packing etc! Thank God for my husband's helping with all of that for the next MONTH at our home.

I am very grateful for having my difficult surgery in spite of the trauma early on.
Dr. Allam turned out to be terrific as did his staff and many of his patients.

I am feeling well these days and have lost 91 lbs. and kept it off!

    Blessings,
    Doreen
