Hi everyone,

My surgery is in 13 days! I am really anxious, but not scared of the surgery. I fully trust Dr. Allam and his staff. I am trying to calm down about it, but it feels like someone is choking me.....hands around my neck feeling.

So Monday, February 12th is the day! I just thought I'd remind those who would be so kind as to either visit me, or call me while I'm in the hospital, I would love it! I need your support from day 1!

Last minute questions: what did you bring with you to the hospital to make yourself more comfortable, either mentally, physically, or both! I'd really like your input!

Talk to you soon, and I'll see you all on the losing side very soon!
Love,
Cathy Monsell

Chapstick (the one thing I forgot to pack and really needed), books, magazines. I really didn't do too much reading but at least they were there if I needed them. I also brought the packet that Nanette and Pat and everyone gave me to go over and over and over.

Hi Cathy,

I'm anxcious too!! I'll be going in exactly 1 month after you! I'm so stoked!!! I'm waiting for the last minute to tell my little one's though. It's eventually gonna slip from my 4 yr olds lips: My mom's in the hospital having her belly cut so it's not so big anymore. Eeeeeeek....hahaha. I'm just so tired of being tired & idling. I want to keep busy 24/7. I've only lived 1/2 my life (hopefully) & have sooooo much more to experience, accomplish, conquer, discover & re-discover. My girls have no idea what they're in for! I will call you up & see how you're doing. Just go by the "blue book" & you'll do fine.
See you soon,
Anita

Cathy - I know how you feel. I was excited & nervous all at the same time too - only 6 months ago. Best thing I brought with me to the hospital was flushable wipes - they made keeping clean much easier!! I got my period 2 weeks early as is common after surgery so bring that stuff too. Oh, and bring slip on slippers for all of your midnight walks!! I did my best walking during the night between naps. Best Wishes - Darla
