Hey there everyone,

Regina's daughter Jessica is in the hospital and I'd like everyone to keep their family in their thoughts and prayers. So far as we know, her spline & liver are enlarged, her blood count is down and shes running a fever. They are running tests and when we know more, I'll keep you posted............

Thanks Elaine for starting this.

Thanks to all who have kept my daughter in your prayers. It is very much appreciated.

Elaine is correct Jessica is doing better. Like Elaine said we still have to watch her spleen and liver since both are enlarged.

I just got off the phone with her and she is waiting for the doctors to all come around. She is also waiting on the results from the last blood work they did this morning.

So keep your fingers crossed that she will be able to come home today.

Special Thanks to Elaine and Terri for being there for Jessica and me from day one. Love you two.

:( Just got off the phone with my daughter and they told her that she will not be going home today. They want to do another Cat Scan tomorrow. They said they will see how it goes tomorrow after that test.

Thank you all for the prayers and calls.

Thank God, she came home yesterday. She is very tired but that is to be expected she has mono. That is why she is so tired. They said your spleen and Liver can get enlarge when you have this. The thing that concerned them the most was that there was fluid around the spleen and liver. Plus that her blood count was so low. They said that they didn't know why the blood count dropped like that. Mono doesn't cause that to happen.

She had to get two things of blood the other day, which did bring her count up some. The infectious disease doctor thinks that since Jessica does lots of lifting at work that could have caused a tear in the spleen and that is why there was the fluid around the spleen and liver. He believes that she might have always had an enlarge spleen to begin with.

So now, she is home and resting and we have some doctor’s appointments to attend to next week. They want to keep an eye on her blood to make sure her blood count doesn't drop again.

She is not allowed to do any lifting at all and she needs some more time off from work to rest. She is not allowed to play softball at least for this season anyway. This made for one unhappy child. She looks forward to that each year. She has been playing since she was in 1st grade. Nevertheless, she knows the consequence that could happen if she plays and is hit in the stomach. She could rupture her spleen, which means surgery to remove it. So, she will be watching instead of playing.

If there is any change I will let you know or Elaine will. Thanks again everyone.
