Regina had her surgery this morning, and I just talked to her--she said she's doing fine, but REALLY tired. I was going to go and visit her this afternoon but she said she wanted to snooze... so if she's up to it I'll go tonight. She said everything went fine....so keep those prayers and thoughts coming!

Hey Everyone,

I went to visit Regina tonight and she looked great. She really pulled through this like a champ. We (me, my husband Kevin, Genine & Andy) visited with her for about 1 1/2 hours and she was in great spirits (might have been the drugs ?????) Will keep you updated on her as she progresses.

Ps = say an extra prayer for Jean who had hernia surgery today and for Bobbie, she had to go back into the hospital again, she has an infection, but the nurses said she was doing great today,,,,,,,,,,,,

I stopped in to see Regina last night but she was snoozin...ah, the joys of pain killers....so I didn't bother her. If she's still around today I'm going to pop in and see how she's doing.

I popped in to see Regina today, and I think she's doing great! She's in great spirits, and was up and walking around. I did my best to make her laugh and was successful...lol! She most likely will be going home on Sat.... and I'm sure will be up and at 'em in no time. Keep those prayers coming!

Hi, all I want to say thank you First to Dr Allam and Dr DeBellis. You both did a great job. What else can I say that hasn't been said about you? Just that once again I will say that I am glad that I have met you and that, you both have changed my life once again for the better. THANK YOU!

I would like to say thank you to all who sent prayers my way.

I also would like to thank Elaine, Kevin (her husband) Genine, Andy (her husband) Terri and Cheryl for visiting me. I know that Cheryl had to come twice. The first time I was just way to out of it when she came.

You are all great and I am glad that I have each one of you in my life.

OOPS almost forgot thank you Nanette and Shelia for taking all my calls and getting me through the process of it all.

Now here is the update:

Terri took me for my follow up visit with Dr Allam yesterday and he removed the drains and all the bandages. WOW, I have a smaller tummy. It looks so good swollen and all. He said to me to come back in a few weeks and to go home and enjoy my life. He said I can shower and I can't tell you how I was looking forward to that.

Terri then drove me to Wal Mart so I can get a different girdle to wear while this one was washing and hang drying. I have found that when I washed it and put it in the dryer to dry it was getting tighter and tighter each time. Dr Allam said as long as I have a support girdle on it is ok. I told him he wouldn’t have to worry about me not following the rules. Anyway, we did some walking around Wal Mart and I have to tell you the whole ordeal of going out to him getting ready and then shopping had a big effect on me yesterday. I am only 1 week out today and I was wiped out yesterday.

I plan on staying put today and maybe just walking outside to feel the sun on me later today for a while but that is it. I am certainly not going to push it.

When you here people telling you that this is very different then the bypass, you had better pay close attention to that cause it sure is. I knew this only from talking to people that had it before me. I paid close attention to what they said and I can agree with them 100%. If you were to ask me if I regret having this one I would have to tell you that I would do it again in a heart beat. Only for the reason that I know that there is a light again at the end of the tunnel. The pain is greater then the gastric but nothing that painkillers won't take care of.

So now I am getting off here cause it does hurt to sit up for a long period of time. Back to the recliner I go and what a godsend that has been. If you have a tummy tuck make sure you have a recliner. I have been living in it since I got home. I now know from lying there on my back in the living room looking up at the ceiling that my ceiling fan light fixture has one different glass over the light bulb. I would probably never have noticed that if it weren’t for this surgery.

Thanks Gina each day I am feeling better and better. I still have pain but I noticed I get it more if I do too much. So, I am trying to not do a lot.

Today I had Larry drive me to King Kullen to get a few things and I took my son with me to help me out in the store. My daughter was working.

It wasn't so bad to walk around a little in the store but it got to be too much waiting on the long lines to get rung up. I came home and I was in pain. I have been trying not to take the pain meds during the day but when I got home, today I just needed to take one and get into that recliner and rest.

I am now 9 days out from my surgery.

image00123 Hey Girl....just don't over do it. I lived in my recliner for a couple of weeks... but was going nuts just sitting around, so I did the same thing and went off to the grocery store. Let me tell you....I know EXACTLY what you went through. Baby steps, my dear....just take it real slow. I still have to get up slower than before...and I still have some pain...but it gets better and better every day. And you'll get better and better every day. Let me know if you need anything....

Hope you are feelling better. I have my tt with Dr DeBellis on May 16 and was wondering if you could give me any advice on how to prepare for the surgery. Did you fill the pain med prescription before the surgery? Or did you get the prescription when you left the hospital? Also, did you need to do any kind of prep the day before, like a bowel prep or a change in diet? I am excited to get this done and I do appreciate your warning that it is a painful procedure. I would greatly appreciate any input you could give to me. And anyone else that had this done, feel free to chime in here. Thanks Regina and feel better soon.

Hi Mary Ellen,
I'm 5 Weeks Out Of The Tt, And It Is Seriuosly, Almost To The Day, That When They Say 6 Week Recovery, They Mean It!! I Am Just Starting To Do Things, Raking Flower Beds Stuff Like That. But Taking It Slow And Easy. Don't Worry About Pushing Yourself, Because You Just Physically Can't!! And Believe Me, Your Body Lets You Know It!! You Really Need To Just Relax And Do Nothing Just Like They Say. I Wish You Lots Of Luck, It Is So Worth It!! I'm Having So Much Fun Buying Bathing Suits And Cloths!!
I Didn't Change Any Eating Habits Or Anything Like That Before Surgery, But If I Remember I'm Pretty Sure It's A Fast Midnight The Night Before. You Should Get All The Info At Preop That You Need. Again ,good Luck!!

I went to see Dr Allam this past Wednesday for my 4-week check up. He said that everything looks great. I am so happy with my tummy tuck, and my brand new belly button. Dr Allam, and Dr DeBellis are the greatest. I just want to take the time out to thank them both so very much. I am so glad that both of you are part of my life. Thanks to you, I now have a great Healthy Happy Life. Not to mention the flattest tummy I have ever had.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/LRJD/11_4_123v.gif I can't thank you enough.

I also want to take the time out to say Thank you for all the calls and postings here.

I hope to see you all at the meeting this Tuesday May 16th.
