When I decided to have the surgery the only family member who knew was my wonderful husband Joe. I knew he would support me in any decision I made and would be there for me post surgery. I didn't tell anyone else in my immediate family because to be perfectly honest, they can be a little flakey and I didn't want any negative vibes prior to my surgery. I was very surprised (then I finally did tell them all) of the support I have gotten from them all, but would not change anything if I had to do it over again.

I agree with Bobbie on being very lucky, I too have a very supportive husband. He was a little concerned alright a lot concerned, because I am a leukiema survivor. But once I have a thought I run with it and there was no stopping me. I am so happy that I had this surgery, I feel great all the time and there is no tummy in my way anymore LOL.

Life is wonderful, it was wonderful before the surgery but now I will be healthier and have longer life. Thanks Dr Allam and a thanks to Dr Papadopoulous at Sloan Kettering for letting me have this Surgery, I cant wait to see her in June, boy will she be suprised, and the nurse that does my Bone Marrow Biopsy will be using a shorter needle to get to the bone, he he he, GOTTA LOVE IT !!!
