Hi Pat;

I Am Ready To Switch From The Chewable Vitamins To Regular Vitamins. I Am Confused On How Many I Am Supposed To Take Of The Regular Vitamins. Do I Just Follow The Dosage On The Bottle Or Do I Need To Take More? I Plan On Taking A Vitamin Without Iron And Taking The Slow Fe As Iron If That Is O.k. Regular Vitamins With Iron Cause Me Too Much Constipation.

Thanks For All Of Your Help.

Hi Kim, You can switch to "solid" vitamins about 2-3 months after the surgery. You should continue to take two multivitamins per day. I don't mind that you take a slow Fe separately, but don't take more than about 18 milligrams of iron in total per day. So.... most likely you will need to take a multivitamin that has no iron. Hope this helps.

Hi Pat,

I Have Been Going To My Doc Once A Month For A B-12 Shot. It's Getting To Be A Pain. Can You Tell Me What B-12 To Buy Over The Counter.
Thanks,
Terrie

Hi Terri,
Vitamin B-12 can be purchased at a health food store. You can purchase what they call a B-12 lozenge which you suck until dissolved or they sell liquid B-12 drops. Either one of these should be taken once per week

How are you! What happens if you don't or forget to take your b12 for several weeks or vitamins. Can you start to become light headed alot or just feel tired all the time. Or is it true that you can become not brain dead over a certain amount of years, things like forgeting simple directions, or forgeting what people told you a minute ago, are these some signs of anything serous. I have had my blood work done all the time nothing showed up. Thanks gina

Hi Gina!
I never heard of that happening , but I am not a pro... why don't you call Pat... she ALWAYS calls back rather quickly and she woul dbe happy to answer your question.
I sometimes forget my b-12... i never experience any of that though.... I just take it again when I remember and start fresh! Maybe you should look into getting the shots so you don't forget?
Sometimes if i eat something with too much sugar.... I get dizzy and light-headed... Could this be something that may be happening to you ?
My advice would definalty be to call Pat... she will have the best answer for you!
I hope you feel better good luck with everyting... and I hope to see you at the next meeting!!!!
