Hi all!
I just wanted to let you all know my Aunt will be having her surgery today, so please say a prayer for her and her new journey.
I have to work but I will be there afterwards and I will post to let you know whats happening.

Good luck Gina and may you have a speedy and painless as can be recovery. You are in good hands with Dr Allam but you knew that already cause of Angelina.

1st of all.. thank you Regina for posting the picture of my aunt and I .. It is GREAT!
2nd of all.... My aunt is recovering.... the surgery went really well.. she was in recovery after about 2 1/2 hours. Later on in the evening, as she was walking the halls ,as we all remember well.. they noticed she was "leaking".... Drr. Allam of course showed up right away, and unfortunatly they had to go back in and explore what the probllem was. He had an idea,and checked it out, and he was right. She was re-stitched in less than an hour and back in recovery. She has to stay the night in ICU, but he feels that all is now well.
Everyone.. PLEASE say a prayer for her? For her health and happiness.

Thanks Angelina for the up date on your Aunt Gina. I will try my best to give her a call today. Glad that every thing is ok now. Thank goodness we know a great surgeon like Dr Allam. Who knew right away what was wrong. Oh and great job on the nurses part with noticing the leak.

I will say a prayer for her that everything from this point on will be clear sailing for her. As we all know who have had the surgery that it can be a little rocky in the beginning. We know that there are hurdles we have to get over. After we have met those hurdles we run into others sometimes. In the end we all know that we are much healthier and most of all happier that we had this surgery.

I know I am and I thank God everyday. I tell family and friends that don't know Dr Allam and De DeBellis that these are two doctors that have touched and changed peoples lives for the better forever by the great work that they do.

I am also so happy to have met a bunch of great people that we have in our group. I have made so many new friends and for that I feel blessed to.

Well all.......
I havent written...... I have not had much good news... This has been a huge rollercoaster ride for amy Aunt and the entire family.
To make a long story short..... She had to have a 3rd surgery today... it was open... they had to re sew the bowel, it was not holding, and she had an absess that burst. She is in intensive care now and stable.. her vitals are good, thank God, we just have to wait about 5 days to see how everythignwill hold up or if re-infection will occur.
Dr. Allam was there by her side when i got there this evening, and assured me that he was just a phone call away if God forbid they needed him an an emergency. I know he feels so bad b/c it is my aunt, but I also know hee is doing everyting he possibly can to get her out of the woods and into a healthier place.
I just ask of you all to please say a prayer to help her recover and begin the journey that she is sooooo longing to begin.

Wow Angelina I am sorry to hear that your aunt is ICU. I tried calling there the day after her surgery I found out then she wasn't in a room yet.

I feel for you and most of all her that is going through this rough time. My prayers are with her and the family for her to start to feel better ASAP.

Please keep us posted when you can about her progress. If you need anything please call me I am only a phone call away. Even if it’s just to talk.

Things are still stable with my aunt Thank God!
We are all praying so hard.
I really believe she will be fine... I just feel bad that she has to go through all of this. But Nothing is ever easy when you really want it... thats my belief anyway. Everyone is doing all they can for her. Dr. Allam always seems to be right there... which makes such a difference. He is doing all her can.
So... so far so good... and I will keep you posted!!

Hi all!
Sorry it has been so long since the update... now that the summer is over, I will have more time for myself!
Thank you all again for all the prayers for my aunt gina.
I hate to report that she is still in the hospital and a bit depressed... I do not blame her.
Unfortunatly she was moved into another hospital in Manhattan almost 2 weeks ago. I think her complications exceeded the care that southampton hospital was able to provide for her. Dr Allam is in touch with my family and the Drs. that are now caring for her every day... He even went to see her there and check up on her. We all Thank him for that.
I know she will be alright, but what a long road this has been for her , and will continue to be for some time to come. So please keep those prayers coming for her to get her through this and begin the journey that lies ahead.
I feel so badly that all this has happened, but at the same time we all know that it can...... it kind of reminds us of how lucky we are.

So Sorry To Hear Your Aunt Has Had Such A Hard Time. My Nephew Goes In For Surgery On Monday, I Am Just Praying All Goes Well For Him. It's Something He Has Wanted For A Very Long Time. He's Only 26 And Up Near 375 Lbs. I Know From Seeing My Recovery And How Well I'm Doing He's Very Excited, But At The Same Time You Can't Help But To Be Afraid For Those We Love. Well guys... it is certainly a long haul for my Aunt. I havent posted b/c there was nothing to post... all was the same for all this time.
Now she was moved into a rehab center in Glen cove. It will be 3 months on Nov. 4th that she started her journey... although it hasnt quite started yet.
She is still very weak, and MORE than depressed! I am heading up there on Sunday to see and , and try to motivate her to get out of that bed and get moving. She won't like me to much, but she has to do it!
Please continue to pray for her... she needs it now more than ever!
I will keep you more updated now... hopefully I will have good things to report!!!

Well.............
My sunt is back in the hospital again. Her potassium was very high, and they were afraid of damaging her kidneys. She is still VERY depressed... and at witts end!
We all are! It feels like there is no end in sight... every step she takes forward, she winds up going back!! I am soooo upset for her!
PLEASE...... PRAY for her!!! there has to be a happy ending to all of this!!!

Thanks Angelina for the update. I just posted a reply to you in the gas thread. I asked about your aunt Gina in there. If I only scrolled down a little before I did that I would have seen that you posted here.

I am glad that she is closer for you to go see her. Not such a big haul compared to going into the city.

Please send her my best and let her know that she has been in my thoughts and prayers from day one.

She might not like you right now for making her get up out of that bed but we all know how important it is. She needs to move around now more then ever. She has been through so much and it is sad that this happens sometimes but we all know the risk when we walk through that office door. If we didn't know them by the time we finish meeting and speaking to Dr Allam the first visit we sure do know them then.

Again please tell her that she is in my thoughts and prayers. Give her our love.

Well all.......... Tomorrow morning at 11 am, my aunt will under-go another surgery. the leak is still not healed, and they want to go back in "open" to try to close it up for good!
PLEASE... PLEASE... PLEASe... say ALOT of prayers for her. she really needs them, this is such a risky surgery as we all know, to have to go back in a 4th time is beyond the original risk. She is weak, and her spirits are poor, and in a way I do not blame her. I don't know how I would feel if I were going through this for the last 3 months. Just ask God to Bless her and the surgeons to be at their best tomorrow for her. We all want to see her home for Christmas, and HEALTHY!!!

Hi All!!!
Thank you for all your prayers!!! It is so appreciated.
My Aunt came through the surgery... it was along one. She is weak, but thank God she got through it! They really re-stitched and GLUED her intestines back up, they are waiting to see how it holds. So far so good!! No leakage!! YAY!!
So PLEASE keep those prayers coming ... if she gets through this week without a leak she is so much more in the clear and the risk of infection will be way down!!
Then we have to try to get her motivated and NOT DEPRESSED!
This won't be easy... but if we all chip in , it will certainly help!
I will continue to keep you all posted, and again my family and I thank you for all your prayers!!!

I am so sad to post this to all of you.....My aunts Journey, which never really began has come to an end. God Took her from us early this morning. She was very sick and weak, and I guess she just could'nt fight anymore.
I want to thank you all for your prayers, and well wishes. Sometimes God has a different agenda, and there ain't nothing we can do about it.
We should all Thank God for how lucky we are EVERYDAY!!! And pass it on to others.

I am not sure if the exact name, but think it is Charles Boyd Funeral home on Deer Park ave in Deer Park.
The services are Sunday and Monday 2-5 And 7-9:30
The funeral is Tuesday... not sure what time.

I wanted to make it to the meeting yesterday, but I had no strength left. The funeral was yesterday and it was a long and sad day.
