At my Curves location they have a 3lb weighted hula hoop. Does anyone know how long after surgery we should wait to give it a try? I had surgery on April 7th. Thank you.

Hi Christine I just wanted you to know that when I first started working out I waited a little while before using weights. I don't think that it would hurt you to try it. I would ask Dr Allam at the meeting first though. I wasn't using what you are planning on using. I just used some little weights to work on arms.

Can't wait to see you at the meeting. Wear something that will show your weight loss so I can get a good 0zx1 of you. 11zwinky

Before starting any workout routine you should always consult a Doctor. After doing so and you have been given medical clearence to go ahead with an exercise program, I would recommened that you put together a workout program that would work your entire body. Which would include strenght training and aerobic training. The curcuit training that curves offers is fine as long as you are shown the proper way to use the machines. I'm not sure what aerobic workout you get at curves, but you would need to get your heart rate up in order to burn fat and to increase endurance. If you would like to talk about this further with me please e-mail me or call me at 475-0206. Best wishes on your exercise program.
