I'll do this in note format for ease of reading: waht may be deductible for you if you are a bariatric patient and itemize on your Schedule A. It is important to keep records though( no matter how sparse or complex), to back up the deduction.
- your medical insurance premiums
- your co pays
- your prescriptions
-most things prescribed by pat the nutritionist( ie vitamin supplements) for regular people vitamins are not deductible.
-exercise equipment
-hospital costs
-special bedding, equipment or supportive clothing( like after a tummy tuck)
-medical mileage to and from dr hospital, bariatric meetings because the dr is there( it is not like aa or oa) it is medical
-eyeglasses, contacts, prescription sunglasses even if they are raybans or designer
-books on bariatric issues.
I am available to answer any questions free of charge my # is 631-284-3566. I will try to get a list on paper to give to nanette as well.

I am so grateful for Dr Allam, Nanette and the entire team and Regina and Bobbie, still each day as I loose weight I am aware of the tremendous amt they each give of themselves.
