My 8 months visit with Dr. Allam

Hi- I went to see Dr. Allam yesterday. It was like a support meeting. Regina and Elaine were there again with me and a young man going for sugery soon. It took longer to leave the waiting room after my visit with Dr. Allam than my visit with Dr Allam. I hope that everyone finds thier visits as helpful as I do. I understand it is very important to follow up for at least 2 yrs after surgery but I get great insight into what my body is going through listening to others that have been there.
To the young man going for surgery I hope we helped him alleviate some of the non-medical questions he had. I wish him all the best.

Hi Jburd,

It was nice talking in the office yesterday, it is infomative for all of us new and old to share our experiences. Ed is scheduled to have his surgery at the end of March, I think he will be so happy with his decision.

I love going to my Dr Allam office visit. In fact it is the only Dr visit that I every really look forward to going to.
Dr Allam was going to tell me to start coming every other month 4_11_4.gif but I said noooo I like coming every month. Heck as long as I can I will be there.

I think that between all of us that we helped him out. I know that his other half was crying cause she was so happy to see the results of us. Listening to how great me feel and how much healthier we are. Ed is going to do just great.

Jburd you look fantastic. ATT0009619 You are melting away to nothing. I had to laugh when you said those were your skinny pants and Elaine said I don't think so. They were a little on the big side. After Elaine said that you said oh I guess I'll have to go shopping. Isn't it great to just be able to walk into a store and not have to worry if you are going to find something that is going to fit you? I love it. I love looking at these little pieces of clothes and saying hmmmm will that fit me? Go to the try on room and stand there looking in the mirror and say WOW OMG Holy Sh*t. Now I even walk out of the dressing room holding my head high to look in the full view mirror. Turning and looking and thinking WOW I Do Look Good! I can remember just trying it on squeezing into it and saying ok it will do for now and take it off and leave the dressing room. NOT ANYMORE!!! Q_DANC117.

Elaine you my friend look fantastic. You_Rock_E You are doing great and are a great help to many people at our support meeting office visits. sx I saw your sister the other day after the Dr visit at King Kullen and I can't even tell you how PROUD she is of you. Most of all she loves you so much and is so happy that you are doing so good and feeling so much healthier. I had to laugh she said to me did you hear that she got sick puke.gif on chicken. I was yeah she called me and told me that she had the bag with her in the car just in case. I said hey it could happen like we have told many and like Pat has said what sits today might not sit tomorrow. We all go through it. Anyway I also want to say thanks to you for the support that you have given me too Elaine.You might think to yourself what support she is out 18 months. Well like I said on here someplace else. The people that call me and talk with me on here doing the newsletter and well running this message board is all support for me. Thanks to you all it has kept me on track. :D

Those of you who come here read this board and haven't made a follow up appointment in a long time or haven't come to a support meeting please try to do so. Both things are very important to keep doing.

OH MY GOODNESS- I went shopping today for clothes for a trip to the sunshine. When i went to pack none of my summer clothes fit!!! So my mom and I went to Walmart( she calls the store the disposable clothes store). I automatically pickes up the 2x sizes and she laughed and picked up a 16. NO WAY Not since I was 19 did i fit a 16. Try it she said. Okay in I go. Well don't you know I came out of that dressing room crying and cartwheeling all at once. The lady working there thought we were two crazy women. Of course when I went back in my mom told her about my surgery and my weight loss and how proud she was of me. I cried some more!
Winter clothes were always a good hider of the pounds now they are a good hider of the loss!!
I just feel like yelling out loud right now!!!

You are such a 23_29_106. com.hap26 I love being told that. Isn't it a great feeling to go into a store and say no way is that going to fit? You go into the try on room and stand there and cry 2 . The outfit that you picked off the 15_8_8. Fits! What a great feeling that is. I know exactly how you felt. 11zwinky
