My husband just reccommended Dr Allam to one of his co workers, he is amazed that I am doing "it" as he calls it. I follow the Post op guidelines, even though I am still mostly on liquids. I cook for the family, I am not hungry, and although I am weak and had stomach pain one day, I am experiencing very few side effects, and even though I am doing all the right things, My husband says its Because Dr allam is a good surgeon, that is why I am doing so well.
So although I dont like to cross my loving Hubby, this is one time my good choices is making him change his tune. Thanks to all! x2.gif

Just keep on doing what you are doing. I'm sure that it was just him not having the understanding of how we feel in those old bodies that we had. Now that he sees that you are OK and Better then ever I'm sure he is glad you had it. Just keep on doing what you are doing Diana. Be Proud of yourself. WE ARE!!

My family gave me a hard time to. My dad said if I were his wife he'd forbid me from having surgery. Now I hear him tell people how good I look and feel. My husband was very supportive from the begining. It v=changes how you cook for everyone. Their portions get smaller at home just because you don't want to cookk as much. But when we go out to eat, my husband was eating two meal so I stopped ordering a meal and order a side dish instead. Keep up the good work Diana!-

My husband didn't want me to have it either...but once he heard who my Doctor was then it was OK!!! AND...as far as singing a different tune.... HE'S lost 27 lbs since MY surgery! We eat healthier, AND less...I don't cook for an army anymore and it shows. He's lost 2 pant sizes (still has to go some to match my progress, lol!!), both of our cholesterol levels have taken a major dive, and he can't believe how much energy he has now compared to when we were both couch potatoes.
Hang in there...it gets better and better--believe me! wttg

As for me it wasn’t that mine didn't really want me to have it. It was more like he was nervous about me going under. He was also concerned about the pain that I would be in afterwards. Also if I was going to be sick all the time. He did know of the same two people that I knew that had it and saw that they were doing just fine. I think though when it comes to your own spouse it is different.
He now sees along with everyone else in my family and all my friends how much healthier I am now. How better I feel.
I have not felt like this in so many years. I now know how much I cheated myself out of by being over weight. I say I should have done this years ago but then again if I did do it then I wouldn't have met The Best Doctor around to do it. So see things happen for a reason and I am a true believer of that.
Who knew that I would be so involved with this surgery afterwards? I love doing all that I do cause it keeps things fresh in my mind. It makes me remember to follow the plan.
My advice to anyone is just make sure you are ready for a whole new way of life. It is not an easy way out. As Dr Allam has explained to us many times he gives us the tool to get started the rest is up to us to do. Remember that you might hit little bumps in the road afterwards but you will get past them believe me. As time goes on you will say to others starting out oh yeah I remember that happening to me. Don't worry you'll get over it. How true that is.
If you ask me if I would do it again my answer would be YES in a heartbeat I would.
So do what is best for you! Good luck to everyone who is just starting out. If you have any questions or concerns please post them here. We are a great bunch and we will try our best to help you.
One other thing that is an important part of being successful is to ATTEND OUR SUPPORT MEETINGS. Good luck all.
