Stricture?

Hi,
I think I have the beginnings of a stricture. :( Since yesterday anything I eat that has any substance to it comes back up. I get a really bad pain and then up it comes. puke.gif
Should I call Dr. Allam now or can it wait until the morning? What is the usual protocol for this? I really don't want to have to swallow that yucky stuff. Is an endo ordered to determine if it is a stricture?

Hey I would call him and tell him. He will tell you what to do. Hey Stacy what are you eating that is not staying down? I would just stay with liquids right now. You don't want to become dehydrated. Don't try to eat anything with any substance until you speak with him.

Hi Regina,
I called him, I had to call Dr. Ricca. I'm waiting on a return call. Pat "graduated" me to soft foods early so I've been eating egg beater and refried beans, stuff like that. Since yesterday when ever I eat, it comes back up. What's the protocol for this?

Stacy, This happened to me just like you said. I had the endoscopy and it was so easy!! I was back to work the next day and now I am feeling better and better each day. weeza

Hi Weeza,
I was able to eat an Atkins breakfast bar today and it stayed down. It seems like when I eat things like tuna it hurts really bad and it comes back up. I made egg salad and that hurt and came back up too. If I did in fact have the beginnings of a stricture would I have been able to eat that breakfast bar?
How did Dr. Allam determine you had a stricture?

I was just wondering if the doctor ever called you back the other night. I know you said you put a phone call in to him. Was wondering what he said about your problem?

Hi Stacy, Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you if you ever need to get me you can send me an email momlouisa@hotmail.com Anyway I was having the problem all I could have was liquids but I was unable to advance my diet at all it was also taking a very long time get the liquids in about almost an hour for a cup of water. Any way Dr. Allam sent me to Dr. Geogeopolus and he did an endoscopy and determined that the opening between the new stomach and the intestine had closed to the size of a pin hole while I was under he stretched the hole and I was home that night and at work the next day that was almost 3 weeks ago and let me tell you what a difference!!! I am doing much better now able to keep hydrated (which was a real problem!) tanyway good luck and don't worry you will get though this!!! I have had several problems since the surgery I am thinking they might have been related. Chat with ya soon! I was wondering did I meet you prior to your surgery in the office? I think I did you have several children right??? I was the one who wasn't very happy but I am happy now! bdgrin Weeza
