Hello all.

I come to you for the very first time as a young ambitious southern mother of two who wants to lose it all. Literally.
Over the course of five years I watched my personal appearance do a complete 360. With additional stresses came additional weight and less time to do anything about it. I stand before you a once beautiful, vivacious young woman now 270 pounds of nothing but hope for a better future. I am determined to make my weight-loss goals happen and this is my final and ulimate stop. This is it.
During the past hour I have scheduled my very first appointment and had a brief but empowering conversation with a lady named Nanette. During the past hour I have came to the realization that this is the beginning of the rest of my life.
I have been filing throug these pages learning about these people who are not unlike myself, many of whom have reached that ultimate weightloss goal that I have been striving for. I hope that during the course of my battle I will get to know and share victories with you.
STRONG WOMEN! YOU ARE MY HEROES!

Hellloooooo world!!!!!! The new and improved Hyacinth will be appearing shortly. Now please excuse me while convince this girl with the huge butt to step to the side. :)

Let me start off by saying Welcome To Our Group!

You will find that we are all here to help one another. As you look around you will see that we are a mixture of a great bunch. 11zwinky Some who are waiting or who have had surgery already.

This message board is here to help you as much as you want it to help. Come here post whatever questions you have about the surgery or anything you might be feeling about it. Someone will answer it as soon as possible.

Feel free to jump right in on anything that you see on the site. You are now one of us.

You sound like you do have it together and you know what you want. I believe that all of us here have gotten to that point also and that is why we decided to have the surgery.
You couldn't have found a better doctor then Dr Allam. You are in good hands with him.
I had my surgery over 17 months ago and have lost 140LBS and by luck I fell into Dr Allam's hands. They say things happen for a reason and I do believe in that. I had to find a different doctor after my entire tests were done. My friend Miranda is the one who found Dr Allam. Then the word spread about him and many of the other patients that were going to the other doctor that I was going to left him to come to Dr Allam. See how things work out. That is why I say things happen for a reason.

Just keep in mind that this is really the last straw to be as successful as you want it to be. This is just a tool to help us. It is not a miracle (although I think it is. It saved my life!) Just follow everything and you will do just fine.

Make sure you attend the support meetings cause to be a successful Loser you need that support along with everything else.

Good Luck to you and welcome again. Hope to be meeting you at our next support meeting March 15.

Please keep us posted on your Journey to the New You.

Hi Hyacinth;

I Know Exactly How You Feel. I Have Just Recently Scheduled My Bypass With Dr. Allam. I Am Set For May 5. I Have Never Been Thin. When I Got Married 8 Years Ago, I Weighed 175. Now I Am 270. I Think Scheduling This Surgery Has Been A God Send To Me. I Will Be Thinking Of You. Let Us Know When Your Surgery Is Scheduled For.

I knew there was a reason I moved to New York! You guys are being very supportive already...and I must say,I am very excited about beginning this journey.
I am already starting to eye those cute clothes that I cannot squeeze into right now.
You guys all know how it feels. You are thumbing through the racks, looking for that perfect "fat girl" outfit that somehow makes you feel attractive and WOW!!! There's something gorgeous! Oh My God!!! You found it!!! Then you realize that some flaky skinny girl stuck a size 4 amongst the 24s. HO-HUM.
Well no longer ladies! We all now have something to look forward to. I see a shopping trip in our future...
Thank you once again for your support good luck in your own ventures. My prayers are with all of you as you near your surgeries and the struggles that follow. Stay strong and keep me posted!

Did I hear someone mention shopping? Lets go! 15_8_8. I love shopping now. All of you who haven't had the surgery yet just wait. That will be one of your rewards after the pounds start melting away.
I love going to the store but most of all I love looking at myself in the mirror oh yeah and I love being able to walk in a store and go to the other side where all the cute little things are. You will all see my soon to be loser friends. 11zwinky

Everything is so much better when you don't have all that extra weight to drag around. Last summer was a good one for me but I am feeling that this summer will even be better. Oh so can't wait for it!

Just remember all the new ones here that are waiting all good things come to those who wait. You made the decision to have this surgery that was the beginning of a New Life For Each And Everyone Of You!
God Bless and the best to each and every one of you.
