HI everyone this board seems wonderful.

I have my first appointment for a consultation
on March 16, 9am......

from reading this board are there things I need to
do before i come to this besides having my diet
history available.

Today I made a big step forward and discussed
this appointment with my husband who will come
with me and be supportive. (what a relief).

Please let me know if there are things I should be
getting done now...while I weight for my first appointment?

Regular_WaFirst let me welcome you. TA_CLAP33. Congrats on making the first step of your journey, now matter what you decide.

Your first visit is an informational visit, both for you and Dr Allam. As far as things to bring, my suggestion would be to bring as many questions as you want answered. Dr Allam is great and will explain everything to you. The other thing, your already bringing (your husband). Its wonderful that you have such support from him. Other than that, maybe make a list of diets you have tried in the past, and other notes on weight loss attempts. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

As for the chat room, Regina and others have made many attempts to get it rolling, but I think everyone comes to the website at different times of the day and its been hard to get it going,

If you need anything, let me know..... the 10.gif Support Group Meeting is this Tuesday at Hampton Bays Library at 6:30pm, it would be great if you could make it..........

May I ask for directions to the Library where the
meetings are held? I would becomeing from the
West heading east and I am clueless ....once I
am out of Riverhead I dont know my way around

PS: How long does it take from a first appointment till you get a sugery date? Approximately...I am trying to plan life.....around this some. thanks again

Bring all your questions and concerns to Dr Allams attention. He is more then welling to answer them all. You will see what a great choice you made but choosing Dr Allam. I would also tell you that it is great to have your husband on your side during this surgery. You will need all the support that you can get. Remember we are all here for you. 11zwinky

padrole Now as far as the when you will get a surgery date that I think will be on your 2nd appointment with dr201 Allam . Also might depend on how fast you go to see all the other doctors. My advice to you is get those appointments set up as soon as possible.

As far as directions to the meeting I will leave that up to someone else. Since I hitch a ride there every month. LOL

Lets see if I can give them to you correctly. hmm3grin2o I'm sure if I am wrong someone will say it.
If I'm correct you take Sunrise Highway going east to exit 24 Hampton Bays. Go south on 24 then at the light make a Left. Take that down to I think the 3rd light make a right cross over the railroad tracks and you will see the Library on your right side. See I told you I don’t know for sure.

I love this message board ...this deicision
is a big step and I think you never can have
to much support.

I will try to get to the support meeting. I maynot
got to this months but I will try for another month.
I am a mom of 3 small kids so its hard to get out....

I imagine i have to first have my first appointment with
the doctor to get all the information on the other doctors
I need to see...so i am in a waiting mode right now till
that first appointment......

Thanks again for the support, for chat anytime I can be free.....if others will be around I wouldnt mind
popping in and saying hello.

Hi Lisa,

I think Regina has the directions right, I'm just not sure how many lights. I do know it is the light just past Gators (bar & resturant) on your left. After the tracks, its about a quarter mile on your right hand side. I realize you have small kids, but its a great chance to see all stages of the surgery in one room. Lots and Lots of support in one large surge.
