Hi All,
Well I'm an official loser. I got home Wednesday afternoon, I thought I wasn't going to be able to go home b/c that morning I have a temp. But my blood work came back ok, so Dr. Allam said I could go home. I'm a little sore, but that's to be expected. Everyday does get better, I haven't taken any pain pills since Friday morning!
I do have a couple of questions for you all. If I go to sleep on my lying on my side, I wake up w/a throat full of buring bile which sends me to the bathroom to violently vomit. This doesn't happen if I sleep in my recliner. When will I be able to sleep in my bed? I am currently taking 30mg of Prevacid daily and have done so for about the last year.
This full liquid diet is making me crazy already, I'm so bored with my choices.
I want to go to the supermarket and buy a seedless watermelon, then I want to put it in my blender and make it into a liquid. Am I allowed to have that?
Thanks to you girls for coming to visit me. You girls are the best!

Hi Stacy, I understand how you feel I hated my choices but then I went to the Juice Bar and got a apple/spinich/cucumber juice and it was the best tasting thing I had in a long time!!!! They have other choices too!! I ended up buying my own juicer its different from a blender because you don't get the pulp. But I found it easier to get the juice from the juice bar. Here in port Jefferson I am close to two one right in the village (Tiger Lily Cafe) and one at Wild By Nature. They also can add protien to the juice if you want I didn't care for it to much but you might. Good Luck it gets better!! Weeza

smileysmil Hello Stacy glad that you are home and sounds like you are doing ok.
padrole I have no idea what that is that is happening to you when you sleep. I couldn't sleep in my bed for a while. I slept on the sofa in a sitting up position. If it keeps up I would call dr201 Allam. In fact why don't you give him a call tomorrow? I know he is going away soon so this way you can find out about it before he leaves.
1225.gif As far as the watermelon thing I would check with Pat on that. 11zwinky Don't hesitate to phone her if you have any questions or concerns. The only thing that I would be worried about with fresh fruit is the natural sugar in it. I know watermelon is mostly water but I am not sure about the natural sugar or even if there is any in it. padrole
I just drank my broth and protein drinks in the beginning. Didn't think about anything else. Everyone is different so my suggestion is speak with Pat before doing anything.
Please keep us posted on your journey now that you are a loser! Thanks Stacy. Talk with you soon. ATT0009619

Hey There,
I got worried about you. I called the hospital when I got your message, stupid me padrole , I should've given you my work number (since I just about live there these days). Plus I didn't have your last name, and the hospital doesn't do there phone numbers by room numbers...........winded I know, but this is how it happened. When I finally got thru to one of the 2 North nurses, they told me you went home yay . Although I was elated for you, I had wished I had been there when you called...........
So, now you are home R_CHAM118. and on the losing side of the fence. I know its a bit tough to get used to the diet, but soon you won't even think about it, as far as the bed, give it time, you got alot of healing going on in there.
Give me a call during the week, if you can't catch me at home leave a voice mail at work 451-9079........

Hi Stacey, glad to hear you are home and doing well. Before you go and get the watermelon, try ice pops (sugar free) they are a nice change from the broth. Also, if you have a blender or food processor you can put regular soup in it and make it really creamy and there won't be any lumps. Your body may not be ready for you to sleep on your side which is why you are getting the bile, but talk to Dr. Allam anyway. In the meantime, try sleeping on the couch with alot of pilllows or in a recliner if you have one. I think you said you have a couch with recliners at both ends, try it. Can't hurt and might help. Take care and if you want to email me at crafty414@yahoo.com, I'll send you my phone number.
Hello Stacy..Glad to hear you are doing better... I knew you would do well... As for the acid reflux I did not experience that but I think it is normal and it will get better with time. I would suggest trying to sleep in an upright postition.. It is actually more comfortable that way. As for watermellon, I ate some in my early stages. I made watermellon juice also, but I did water it down. I know you are going to get frustrated with the different stages of food, but no matter what dont deviate from the diet...you will be much more succesfull if you stick to the diet exactly. Congratulations to my fellow looser!!!!!
