Hi All,
Do all WLS patients have to take B 12 post-op? Or is it only taken after the first round of blood work if it's low? If it is taken by all WLS patients what kind do you take?
Thanks,

Hi Stacy we all have to take B12 after surgery unless we are told not to by Dr Allam.
I take B12 once a week 1000 mcg. Get the one that dissolves under your tongue. That is the only one that we are supposed to take.
I got mine at Trader Joe's in Lake Grove.
Hi Stacy... We all need to take vitamins after (including b-12) surgery. I have found instead of taking a few different vitamins, I take 1 pre-natal vitamin a day. It has everything we need in them, iron, calcium, b-12,zinc and much more. It also helped with my hair. We all go through hair loss or thinning after surgery. I bet if you start taking them before surgery and continue taking them, you will see minimal loss. You can get them over the counter for about $30.00 but that is for a 90 day supply. In the begining you may have to crush the pill, to help swallow, not untill about 4 weeks out did it go down easy. Good Luck.

Hi Girls,
Thanks for your replies. So in addition to the Flintstone vitamins I'll be taking, I need to get B12 too, right? The 31st will be here before I know it, so I'm getting all my ducks in a row now.
Regina,
Where in Lake Grove is there a Trader Joes?
Thanks
