I would like to know from someone who is a Type I diabetic (Insuline depedant & always will be no matter how thin they are) what it's like treating a reaction post-op. Your responce would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Lynette,
Welcome to our world of Losers. I just returned from Dr Allam's office and he asked me to respond to your post. I was a type II diabetic before my operation. All I can share with you is my Experience, Strength and Hope of what worked for me. I was adult onset diabetic, diagnosed in 1999, I was controled with insulin during pregnancy and with oral medication after. The last day I took oral medication for diabeties was October 9, 2003. The day of my surgery. I know for me I now control my diabeties by diet and exercise. I am sure that you could gain more information by working with an endocronoglist who would be better at instructing you in your medication. If my understanding of type 1 and type 2 is correct, type 1 your body doesn't produce any insulin, and type 2 your body doesn't produce anough insulin. I am down 200 pounds in 14 months and feel great. I am starting to plan the next phase which will be removing the extra skin. I hope what I shared with you has helped shed some light. Please keep asking until you find the answer you need. The only dumb question is the one never asked. ;)
