OK, I was wondering what kind of experiences people have had with turkey. At the last meeting so many people expressed a problem with chicken, but only one person said anything about turkey. She said that she could not handle chicken, but turkey went down just fine.
So here we are upon Thanksgiving. Let's hear about other turkey experiences please.
Also, I probably do not have to ask this but I love it so: can people tolerate eating the skin?????????
Thanks,
Marian

turkey THANKSGIVING DINNER turkey

Ok first of all when did you have your surgery? That is very important to know.

I had my surgery last year September 4 2003. I made a Turkey for Thanksgiving last year and it went down ok. At least I though it did. Until about an 1hr later I had to get rid of it.

I would just say to you to be very careful. It all depends on how far after surgery you are to really say if you should give it a go or not.

Let us know.

Hey,
I had my surgery Oct 14. I do know what you mean. I have had 3 times where I ate things I had already eaten without problem and on those times not right away, but like a half hour later, the pain and 'burping' started. After a long time with that, I was actually glad that it came back up. I just am leery of turkey.

Ok here is my opinion and it is my opinion, which does not make it right, but I wouldn't eat it if I were you. It is to soon I think. Try and find something else to have. I know that Thanksgiving is about having turkey but I rather not have it if it means getting sick. It's just not worth it to me.
I still have problems with certain foods. As you go along you will see what is good and what isn't. I now stay away from those foods that get me sick and I am a little over a year out.
It is up to you I can't tell you what to do like I said but I know I wouldn't do it. When I had it last year I was just about 2 1/2 months out already and it didn't sit with me.
The choice is yours.
