I've got several bags of clothes that I've shrunk out of since my surgery on May 6....anywhere from a size 20 and up. Anyone interested? There's everything from jeans to sweaters to shirts to WHATEVER in there....
If you're interested let me know and I'll either bring them to the December support group or we can hook up before that. I'm in Southampton....call my cell and if I'm not around leave a message. 631-495-4947.
I'd rather someone from our group would use these as opposed to just taking them to the bins around town, and you never know if they get used or thrown out!

If anyone is interested I've still got clothes....it seems like more every time I look thru my closet! One of these days I'm going to look in there and it's going to be empty...gee, what a shame. I can bring them to the meeting on Tuesday if you're interested...let me know! Cell phone is 631-495-4947. I'll be on the road most of the day on Tuesday so give me a buzz.

I think trading clothes is great and helpful. If for some reason you cant trade them out, you may reap some definite tax benefits for donating them to a reputable charity. For those of you who dont know how that works here goes:
Make a generic type list of what is in the bag or box you are donating( 2 slacks, 4 shirts, and so on.) get a receipt from goodwill, salvation army or put them in the box or call big brothers big sisters to pick them up and get a generic receipt. As you buy new clothes keep those recipts too. What is deductible is the Thrift shop value or fair market value of the clothes( and the mileage at 15 cents per mile to drop them off) If the clothes are formal wear, you may want to claim the fair market value, not thrift shop valore or if the clothing is couture, again the fair market value of a $2000 chanel suit could be $500. This goes on your Schedule A if you itemize your deductions, and may reap you a few bucks to spend on the smaller sizes we are all fitting into these days. The really great news is that if you cant use the deduction this year you can carry it forward to a year you can use it, so nothing is lost. I do alot of charity and I dont do it because of the deduction, but it is like money in the bank. Dont get me wrong, I sytill think trading among us is the best choice, but if youve got that spring cleaning fever and you just have to get that size 24 or 53 pants out of your face, then Charity is a great idea. Keep your receipts however rudimentary they may seem. Any other questions I would be happy to answer.
