Cathy and Rocky-
I wanted to give you guys the info on the PA Dutch Country vacation, and at the same time, anybody else who is interested....
Go to www.padutchcountry.com Once you are there, go to the drop down box marked "lodging". You will see a link for "Guest homes". We have stayed at Das Intercourse Guest Haus on Queen Rd. in Intercourse, and The Intercourse Village Vacation Home, also on Queen Rd.
www.intercoursevillagevacationhome.com (has a pool!)
www.intercoursepalodging.com (2 different houses...both very nice! 1 in Intercourse, 1 in Bird-In-Hand)
From either house, you can walk to town. Kitchen Kettle Village, etc. It's all very close!! Many Amish live on the same street, so it's common to have them pass by with their families and say Hi. There is a family restaurant down the road a ways, as well as a Best Western with a restaurant, and Stolfus Meats on the corner. Zimmerman's Amish Grocery is also a walk away, as is Das Cafe Haus. Lots to do.
In nearby Lititz, there is an adorable little family restaurant called, "Lititz Country Cupboard." It's off of Furnace Hills Pike just past the Warwick Inn Hotel. (I think it's called Newport Rd.) You can either order your meal ala carte, or order the buffet. (WAY too much for me, but Jeff loves it! :D ) The trick is to find the "off the beaten path" places, and look for PA license plates!! ;) If you see a lot of NY, .............RUN AWAY!!!! lol
Hope this helps. See you soon.
Nanette
