Hi everyone!

I wanted to run something by you....

A few weeks ago, I wrote to Starbucks and suggested a Low-fat, Splenda sweetened version of their Frappucino's. Well, guess what! They arrive in stores this Wednesday!

I was thinking that, if anyone has an idea for a food/drink that a company could adjust to suit our needs, we should e-mail or write them, and make that suggestion.

Last summer, I wrote to Kraft Foods. (Makers of Crystal Light). I suggested a single serve packet, (Similar in size to a sugar packet) that could be added to a bottle of water. Convenient? YES! Does it make sense? YES! (I think so!) Kraft says that "not enough people would be interested."

I wrote them again this am. (www.kraftfoods.com ) I said that there are a very large number of Gastric Bypass patients who would probably find this product idea very helpful. (Have you even gone to an amusement park where you weren't allowed to carry in your own food or beverages? ie: Hershey Park. They offer water/soda/pre-sweetened lemonade! You get stuck with water, only! Imagine how nice it would be to reach into your purse/pocket and pull out a single serve packet of lemonade and mix it up!!)

I guess what I am suggesting is the old adage-"we have not because we ask not"!

Let's become our own advocates, and start making requests of these companies to include us in their marketing! Starbuck's did it!! (I sent them a thank-you!) Please jump on the band-wagon, and start writing those letters!

See you soon!

Nanette,

They do have the single serving packets of Crystal Light available in lemonade, raspberry ice and peach tea I think. Good idea though...I love the sugar-free lattes at Starbucks (decaf of course) :).

Jenn,

I have never seen anything except the small "tubs" that make a 2 quart pitcher, or single serve BOTTLES. (Which would NOT be allowed into a park!) I even went on their website to check it out again. If you do see them, please let me know where.

Thanks!

Nanette,

They have them at the cafeteria in Stony Brook hospital, I eat there everyday. I can pick some up for you if you would like, just let me know what flavor and how many and I'll bring them on Tuesday.

Jenn,

I will take whatever you can get me! With the girls going back to college in the fall, and us going on vacation in August, I would like to have some in my purse and in their dorms, if possible. Let me know what I owe you!

The only thing I can guess is that they are not for sale to the public, and only available through cafeteria supply houses or something. Their website still says they don't make them! Weird. Maybe this means that, eventually, they will be for sale to the general public. I hope so!

In the meantime, I may write to Wylers! lol

See you Tueday! Thanks again!

Jenn,

I found them online!! The are distributed by Mr. Coffee! (NOT Kraft foods!) They are available to cafeterias and usinesses etc. I found them on www.business-supply.com Now I know why I couldn't find them on the Kraft website! Now I may write to Kraft and ask them:
1. Why didn't they tell me this a year ago?
2. Why can't we buy them in a supermarket?
lol (I'm a big pain in the fanny!)

Anyway, they are relatively inexpensive, but I am not sure yet of they will ship directly to me, since I am not a business. (Although, sometimes I feel like a cafteria owner around here!!) I am going to try, but if you can get me a few, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks again!!
