They had their post-op check up.....staples out, and "go live your life"! And, they are!

They have both lost 25 lbs!! Kaelin has been babysitting, went out to a friends house, to the movies, and a party!! She goes back to work next Tuesday, out of sheer boredom! (A week early!)

Kristen is the same. She has been shopping (many times), gone to the airport with me, has a job interview on Wednesday, and she begins teaching voice and flute next week! (think about this.....she must use her diaphragm to maintain her breath control for both! WOW! I didn't sing for 2 months!)

Both are dealing with food boredom/frustration, but we all know that will pass once they can chew again. ;)
Thanks for the "food ideas". The peanut butter/banana thing was an especially big hit! I think it reminds us of childhood comfort food!

See you all at group!

Love, Nanette

Yes, indeed! Our house is filled with losers. (It's cool!) I made them my favorite carrot mush for dinner tonight. They both loved it! It tastes like real food!! They will never eat Jell-o again, I can guarantee it! (can't say I blame them!)

I take a chicken boullion soft cube, water, chopped celery, whole baby carrots, a little salt, pepper, and garlic powder. (VERY little!!) Boil together until carrots are very soft. REMOVE CELERY!! Mash.

They were both surprised and thrilled that they liked it! Kristen even said, "Hey! I can learn to eat this stuff!" I promised them it's not going to be much longer, and they seem to be getting the hang of it!

Kristen went for a nice walk today, and Kaelin went to her friends house to hang out BY the pool. (No swimming until Wednesday!!) We had a family birthday party (youngest daughter turned 15 today), so there was a lot of tempting foods. (Anything that isn't mush!!) They had a great attitude, though. They felt that, although it was hard for them to be around all the food, it wouldn't be "fair to Katie" not to have had a party for her. I have great kids!

Anyway, I'll see you losers at the next meeting. And, yes, our plan is to come to the picnic. My husband has to perform at a concert in Riverhead that day, but he'll just meet us after he's off stage. (Maybe I can talk him into bringing his guitar?!)

See you on the 20th!
