Time is sure going by fast. I can’t believe it is July already and in three more days, it will be the 4th.
I am invited to go to my sister’s house for a BBQ. I love going there and spending time with my family. I know that there will be lots of good food along with the evil forbidden food I shouldn't have. :(
I will just have to keep myself busy while that food comes out. ;)
So, what is everyone else doing on July 4? Anyone going to BBQ or going away?

Hey everybody,
It really is hard to believe that it is July already. I have a long weekend coming up and I plan to try to chill out with my family and friends if that is at all possible. I haven't heard anything about the weather yet, but we are hoping to drive our trucks on the beach and get some fishing in with a couple of BBQ's along the way. I have to work a party on the fourth, but once that is done, I don't want to do a darn thing except relax and enjoy myself. We have a spot on the beach between Amagansett and Montauk that only trucks can go and get away from the crowd. It is very relaxing so we just soak up the sun during the day and then fish in the evening. When it starts to get dark, we build a bon fire and if it is a little chilly, it takes the edge off.
We also might have a couple of friends over to sit by the pool and have a BBQ or clambake, and just relax around the house. Both my wife and myself could really use a little R & R so we plan to make the best of it.
Hope everyone else is well and can enjoy the weekend also.
Have a safe one,
Jamie

Happy almost 4th everybody! I'm planing to do yard work and take a kayaking trip by myself to relax and get some excersize. No kids. No work. I'll bring my cell in case of emergency, but I'll be on well traveled trails. Just bliss!

We're planning a family BBQ at Mom's. Hopefully they will have the pool ready by then?? Playing with my Nephew and helping out keeps me busy. My only downfall is chips - but at parties I have a few. I always leave room for the "good" food because my health is important. That's my way of taking care of myself - I do that much better now that I'm thin. I guess I value myself more now. Have a happy and safe Holiday everyone!!! Darla

Usually hubbie and I stay home on 4th. My dog isn't even afraid of fireworks and we don't get too many on our block, but that has been our excuse each year to be couch potatoes. This year we may actually attend a party. There may be fireworks over the bay to enjoy and foods to enjoy or avoid. When I go out I eat a little rather than much because if I overeat I will get sleepy and then my head will fall into my dish "clunk"!! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!!

I started my July off yesterday at the beach.
You might be thinking big deal but I did something that was a first for me. I went all by myself. Let me tell you it was relaxing.
Then I lost that relaxation for about 45 minutes. I was sitting there watching this little boy looking around. I just knew this boy was lost you can just tell. So, after about 10 minutes of watching him, I started to walk over to him and at that time, a lifeguard was approaching. I said to the lifeguard I said I have been watching this little boy and I think he is lost. The lifeguard walked over to the boy and said hey buddy you okay? He said yes and the lifeguard walked away.
I was pissed cause he didn’t' even really bother. So, I still kept my eye on him and watched and watched. He walked to the top of the steps now and stood there looking around and then came back to the sand. He started walking in the direction to where I was sitting. I got up and said if you are lost please go tell one of the lifeguards over there. I said I have been watching you now for some time and I believe you are lost. He said he wasn’t. Then before I knew it another lifeguard approached him. I said to the lifeguard that I believe this boy is lost. He has been walking around here looking and then I said I told that lifeguard with the hat on over there but he just asked if he was ok and walked away.
The lifeguard then kept walking up and down the beach with the boy. I was like why isn't his mother looking for him. I know I would have been frantic if my child was nowhere to be found. When they walked by me, again I said does your mom have a phone he said I am not here with my mom I am with my friend’s mother. I was really pissed now. What kind of person that takes on the responsibility of another child at the beach and doesn't notice he is missing. Just about 45 minutes later I see this woman and her daughter approaching the lifeguard who has the boy. Apparently, she was the one who didn't watch this kid. In the end, I was happy for the boy that he found her. The age of the boy had to be about six. These young girls behind me said you did the right thing and it was good that you were so observant of what is going on. I said I came here to relax and that was not relaxing to me.
The water was extremely rough yesterday the lifeguards were in and out of there helping swimmers. So, by 2PM I had enough of it and decided to call it a day. I couldn’t relax with what happened to that boy and then the people that were being saved all day by the lifeguards. I should have stayed home it might have been more relaxing. :)

Great Job Reg. I too am working on the 4th (a 16 hour day). The next time you are headed for the beach, give me a shout and I'll meet you there. Thank you for the phone call after I had to put Lucky down. I was very hard, but I know it was the right decision. He is now with his Daddy (Joe) and his sister Blondie. They are all over the rainbow bridge waiting for me. What was the web site you sent me that you said helped you get back on track? I saw a really good recipe there but now can't find the site. Have a safe and sane 4th everyone. WATCH OUT FOR ALL THE CRAZY PEOPLE!!!!!!
