Well the Christmas Party has come and gone and we really had a great turn out. Lots of good friends and good food (mostly eaten by non-surgery family members). Most of us who are recent post-ops all seem to have been of the same opinion...for the first time in a very long time, we actually looked forward to dressing up and going out. I know for me it was a wonderful experience and from many of the people I spoke with, there was a great deal of those having the same thoughts. I want to take a minute to thank Dr. Allam and his lovely wife for a really nice time and I can't say enough about the tireless work that Jan put in to get it all organized. GREAT JOB, JEN!!!!!.
I would like to pass along something that happened to me during this holiday season. Since Thanksgiving we have had various goodies brought in to work. Cookies, dips, chips, crackers...etc. I found that I fell into a trap of sorts in that I would help myself to a cookie thinking "One cookie won't hurt." Now maybe one cookie won't hurt, but when you are taking that "one" cookie every 10 minutes, you are suddenly eating "ALOT OF COOKIES OR CHIPS OR WHATEVER" without realizing it because you are "grazing" and never feeling full. Please, please, be careful! Those pounds can sneak up on you before you know it. That said, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Skinny New Year. See you at our January meeting.
