Hi Debbie,

I am so happy for you, and I promise that you won't regret it!!! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate ask me or the wonderful growing group of Lapbanders and Bypass veterns out there and on the website. You already have a good start by having come to the support group meetings and by posting on the board. You are well ahead of the game already and every bit of information will help you get through the ordeal with flying colors.

Good luck, you are in good hands,

Jamie

Best of luck to you Debbie. I would love to say I would come visit you in the hospital but I don’t think I can get there.:(

If you would like me to give you a follow up phone, call Private message me your last name that way I can phone you while you are there in the hospital.:)

Make sure you take a front and side view picture of yourself. A month after surgery you’re going to be happy you did trust me on this one. ;)

They put me in the book for 10AM. Does the hospital have wireless computer access? I was thinking of having my significant other bring me up my laptop so I would have something to do and I could let all of you guys know how wonderful I am doing.

I wish you the best of luck, Debbie!

I don't know what getting the Lap band entails these days, because I'm a bypass patient, but I hope you have an easy time of things in the hospital! Then you can be on your way....a skinny girl to come!!!!

Hugs and good luck!

You guys can call, I am going to try and bring my laptop so that I can get some work done while I am laying in bed so I will also let you guys know on here. I am so excited I can't wait. I just am being so bad these last few days. I treat every meal like it is my last meal. I keep saying we have to go here or we have to go there because I won't be able to eat that again or things to that nature. It is so funny, I know I will be able to eat at these places again I will just need a doggy bag. But I am trying to get it all in before the surgery and it makes me laugh. I just can't wait for it to happen already!!!
Thanks for all the well wishes, but I have to thank you guys because you have helped me with great support and answers to all my questions and made this journey go worry free and very quick.

Debbie,

Don't think you are the only one that has had the last meal idea. I think everyone goes through it to some extent, and you do have to laugh a little, but it is only human nature!!! Enjoy it for what it's worth your time will soon be here.

I don't believe that the hospital has wireless, so you might want to call so you don't have to carry your laptop in if they don't

Good luck,

Jamie

My friends keep joking since tomorrow night is "my" last supper, they want to know if I am posing for pictures with "my" disciples? They are getting a kick out of my new eating habits.

That's pretty funny! I think we all had that mournign period about food. Honestly-I don't miss anything. THe first few months were a littel tough figurung out what agreed with me but now at 5 months out I can pretty much tolerate everything. If I want a taste of something I try it. One or two bites and I am satisfied.
Good Luck on Monday- I'll be thinking about you

Good luck, Debbie! Tomorrow you start your new life. You don't have to miss out on food forever. Eventually you can have a taste of just about anything. BTY I had some sugar free, fat free, soft serve at the ice cream place in the mall yesterday. It was heavenly. You'd never know! Can't wait to hear how it went.

I would like to thank Connie for coming up a seeing me yesterday. I got to the hospital @ 9:45 and went in about 1:30 I think while she was there. Thanks eveyone for helping me thorough this and I am so glad to be a loser now!!!!

Debbie,

I am so glad to see that you made out so well. I tried calling you last night about ten times, and no one at the hospital said anything about you checking out early. Good going!!!!! If there was another patient in your room it probably drove them crazy listening to the phone ring because I just kept calling and calling. I figured ok, she is being a good girl and walking around the floor. Oh well, let your journey begin.

If you have any questions please post them or private message me and if I can help, I will do anything to do so. It sometimes can get a little confusing at first, so if you have any medical or nutrition questions, ask Dr. Allam or Pat and they will help asap.

Please keep us posted and let us know if you have any concerns or questions that we can help you with, OK?

Good going you loser,

Jamie

WOW drive through surgery.com.hap26

I also tried calling you last night at the hospital about 8 times and thought the same thing as Jamie did that you were out walking. ;)

So yesterday, your Journey began on a different path the losing path that is. You are now officially a 23_29_106. Congratulations and watch those pounds fade away. :D

Like Jamie said above Debbie if you need anything please come and post it here. We are all here to help each other on this Journey.

Best Of Luck To You

Thanks everyone. I am sore this morning, hard getting out of bed sometimes but other than that I am good if I take the pain meds.

QUEEBELL

Yea, take the pain meds if you need them. You won't need them for long. I had the bypass and I only needed them for a couple of days after I got home. It's not too bad though right? I was really surprised how fast I healed. Dr.Allam is really a one in a million surgeon. Isn't he? It just never ceases to amaze me how easy my recovery was. Just wanted to share that with you as you recouperate. Hope to see you if you can make it tonight. If you don't feel up to it don't push yourself. We can always chat on here.

Hi Debbie,

Please make sure that you don't push it too much. If you want to try to attend and get tired just excuse yourself and go home. Even with walking and lifting, you can tire very easily and at this point your stomach and abdomen are in a very sensitive state. You will know if you can or can't, espically with the bending and lifting. Your stomach and pouch need time to heal and you don't want to harm anything at this point.

Sounds like you are doing fantastic and am so glad to hear you are bouncing back quickly, I knew you would!!!

Keep us posted, and give me a call if you need me,

Jamie
