Hi everyone,

A couple of group meetings ago, I had a nice couple come up to me and ask a few questions about Lapband surgery, and tried to help them as best as I could. I know how confusing it is when you first start out and realize that any information you get at that point helps make the whole story a little clearer and easier to understand. I gave Mike my home phone number and told him that if he had any questions to give me a call and if I could help that I would be more than glad to do so. He called me and we had a nice talk and I can only hope that I helped in some small way. He was going out of the country for a while, and we both wished each other well and left it at that.

I was looking through the member list the other day when I came upon his user name (mhagler) and I realized I hadn't heard anything about his progress and I wondered if he was still leaning toward the operation or not. I sent him a private message yesterday and hoped that I would hear back from him.

I received a call from Mike last night and found out that he had the operation a little while ago and was doing fine. He is progressing nicely and has lost a few pounds and is on his way to the wonderful lifestyle that Dr. Allam has given all of us. I still would like to help Mike and anyone that has any questions or needs a little advice. Just always remember that if you have any medical or nutrition questions to contact Dr. Allam or Pat and they will clear those questions up for you.

There are so many of us that have had either operation, that will help anyone with any questions, and as you know there is no better way of getting information than getting it from someone that has been through it themselves.

Welcome Mike, you now have a family of Bypass and Lapbanders that will help you with any of your questions or concerns, and this goes for anyone that has had or is thinking of having either operation.

See you at the Support Group Meeting,

Jamie

I had my lap-band surgery on May 22nd. The first week after surgery, shall I say, was quite challenging. Its almost 3 weeks now and everything is fine.

We are planning to attend the meeting on the 17th.

Hi Mike and Debbie,

I am so glad to hear that you are doing well, Mike, it was nice talking to you the other night. It sounds like you are adjusting just fine and on the way to a better and healthier lifestyle thanks to the tool that Dr. Allam gave you. I am glad to see your post because I know you said that you weren't to sure how to, but it's not that bad and once you get the hang of it it's a piece of cake. All of these posts help others out there that read our conversations and possibly learn a little tid bit here and there. Every piece of information you get helps make the picture a little clearer and we all know how confusing it can be when you are first starting out. There are so many hoops to jump through, but they are necessary to make sure that you are ready for this giant step and change in your life. When we discuss these things on the message board it helps people understand the process a little better and is a comfort to know that they are not the only ones that have to complete all of these tasks alone.

Please say hi to your wife for me, and I'll see you at the meeting on the 17th.

Debbie,

I am so glad to see that you are finally getting there!!! I know that it seems like a long road, but it will be so worth it when it finally does happen. I want you to know that you are in good hands with Dr. Allam and his staff and am confident that you won't have any problems. Just make sure that you walk, walk, walk as soon as the nurse gives you the ok. There is a sticky on the "Patient Corner" section of the board that I wrote about the "Day of the Operation" that I think everyone agrees is pretty much what goes down on the big day. If you haven't read it, it may help you understand what happens that day.

As always, if you have any concerns or questions, just post them or private message me and I will get back to you and even give you my home phone number or give you a call if you would like to talk about anything. OK ?

Good luck on the 16th, and if you want an angel to visit or call, just ask.

Talk to you soon,

Jamie
