Having had the procedure I don't need an angel, but how would I go about becoming one? I am more than happy to get involved, anything special I need to do?:D

Hi Darby,

Thank you so much for wanting to be an angel. I believe all you have to do is let Carrie know in Dr. Allam's office and she will put you on the list. That way if someone wants a visit or a phone call at the hospital, or at home after the procedure you can oblige their wishes. I know that a little companionship with someone that has been through it to help answer any questions that may come up can be a big help if needed.

Call Carrie at the office, and thanks again,

Jamie

Jaime and Carrie---I am available to be an angel for someone on Mondays. I will talk to Carrie in the office, I really think we need to get this up and going because the support is great. I cant appreciate enough all that Carrie did for me, just a simple call "Hello how are you" Add me to your list to be an angel. Thanks Connie

Hi Connie,

That's wonderful, I am sure that someone would love to hear from you when they are in the hospital. It makes a huge difference when you can ask someone anything that pops into your head and know that they have gone through it themselves. They can answer you so much better than someone that hasn't been there. Thanks for all of your help in getting the message board buzzing again.

Keep up the good work,

Jamie

So, what is going on with this? Have we gotten this up and running again? Is there anyone going in for surgery that wants an Angel. Please let us know here if you have a surgery date and if you want an Angel.

Connie was a great angel!!!!! To bad I was behind schedule and she got to see me being wheeled away. I think this a valuable resource to be able to talk to someone who has gone through it and ask questions about it while you are fresh out of the procedure. I would like to be an angel if anyone needs one!!

I would like to thank everyone that wants to help by being an angel. It could make such a difference to be there when someone is in need or just a little confused after their surgery. We just need to be asked and we will be there if you want us. Please tell Carrie in Dr. Allam's office that you want to have one of us visit or call while you are in the hospital.

I do believe now, that some insurance companies are not letting the Lap Banders stay overnight if there are no complications, so this makes it a little harder to see someone, but I still think it can be done. I know when Debbie was operated on, I tried to call her about 10 times and the hospital never let me know that she had gone home, and I even talked to the nurses station and they never said a word. I was so relieved when I saw Debbie post and that everything went well. So we may have to come with some sort of plan for the Banders.

We are there to help anyone that wants it, so just ask!!!

Thank you,

Jamie

Hi Sue!
My name is Isabel. Which surgery are you having? I had the bypass 11 months ago and I'm doing great! I've lost 138 pounds and would be happy to help you in any way I can. You can send me a private message with your information if you are interested. I can even come visit if you like when you are in the hospital. Please let me know.
