Hey Guys !!! Question : What are these strange sounds I hear from my stomach ??? I am definately not hungry . I am doing very well , feeling good but today more so than other days I have my stomach talking to me, growling !! Before my surgery I used to think this was hunger but NO WAY not anymore. Now I feel like it is my body's way of shedding pounds, does this make sense?? ANYONE ELSE HAVE THESE STRANGE SOUNDS ??

Did you have the bypass? I did and not only are there strange sounds there is an unbelievable amount of gass I have to try to quietly burp out. My coworkers have learned to deal with it. LOL It's worse when I eat in front of other people.
I'm no expert, but I do believe that is the sound you hear. Don't worry. It's unlikely that anyone else can hear it. What you "hear" is probobly more of a feeling. It's strange and embarassing, but completely normal.

LOL - I have something similar. I have sounds, but I think its either digestion or things settling into their new spots. Not that I am an expert but I also assume that becasue we are loosing weight so quickly our organs that were once 'crowded' by all that fat, now have more room...sound silly? maybe and maybe I am completely wrong.
I also get a serious MOVEMENT verrrrry similar to a baby moving inside, but much higher than a baby should be. I feel it every night especially when I lay down on the couh to relax.

Hey Sallarae I llike the thought of things moving around better !!! I can live with these sounds so long as I keep losing the unwanted pounds---Just hope that I dont start talking back to them (LOL)
Glad Im not alone with these sounds ???????????????????????????????????????
Thanks sallarae for the post the other day.....What a tragedy for our town and his family.....so sad........But God does work in mysterious ways.

JIM here
I had the same thing for about the first week and a half.
Lots of noise but NO hunger, I did loose a lot of my early weight at that time. BUT I've noticed in the past week or so my appetite is growing a little so of too see the "WIZZARD" behind the curtain.
I went to my first meeting on tuesday, missed you maybe next month..

Hey, everyone get use to the noises. I have had them on and off for years since my surgery. Sometimes when I drink something and I am just lying, still I can here the fluid going through my pipes. I remember the first time Larry (my other half) heard it he turned to me and said was that you. I said well there is no one else here with us.
I am so use to it now that I sometimes don’t even pay attention to it but when you are with someone that never heard it before there look is like this
Oh and the gas for that matter does not get better either. Just make sure you’re not around people when you slip it out. :p

Thanks to Regina I have finally logged on! Yes, I have many strange noises but I don't worry about them and it's not all the time. It is 4 1/2 years later and other people can hear it as well if it happens to come up. LOL They DO get "that look" on their face and think "what the heck"? I just tell them it's my stomach and it's digesting. "it's nothing". hahahahaha I also get that "baby in the stomach but up high" feeling now and then. All these small things pale in comparison to the success of losing the weight. The only thing that doesn't in my life is GAS. I eat very slow. Chew each piece 50 times (I count), don't take a lot of air in while I eat, etc. etc. etc. but nothing helps. Sometimes I am like a grandmother who just walks and quietly "toots". If I am in the supermarket or in public I just quickly walk to the next aisle and hope for the best. One day I was on a line at CVS at the pharmacy when I had one of those silent gas events and when I looked down I saw a man's shoes back up about 2 feet or so! Embarrassing. However, this is life. Things happen. I'm still a happy camper. No one should be able to believe that such horrible foul odors could come from "little me". hahahahahaha I'm so happy to be online, I'm a little chatty but I can't help it. Have lots of funny stories.

Next time I am reading a story of yours, I will make sure I am not drinking my coffee. I just had taken a sip of my coffee and read about you tooting in CVS. com.hap26
I am glad that you are posting here Annie and I look forward to reading your stories with drinking coffee of course. Now I need to clean my keyboard.;)
