I just CELEBRATED my 4 year bypass anniversary on 5-10-08...and let me tell you, I STILL talk about it to anyone that will listen!!!!! It was and always will be the best decision I have ever made...it gave me my life back, and also gave me a new life. I would have never done what I've done in the last 4 years without the expertise and guidance of Dr. Allam, and also the support of all of you. I miss going to the meetings since I moved upstate, and have not been able to find a support group in Western New York, but I check out this website on a regular basis to keep up on everything that's going on. Since I left Long Island last August, I've got a new place, (still have my old job that I brought with me), have reconnected with dozens of old friends and family, have a 2nd job @ my family restaurant, have a new puppy, and gotten my Horse Massage business off the ground. I am busy all the time...and thanks to Dr. Allam, I have the energy and stamina to BE busy all the time! I have run into dozens of people that I used to know that don't recognize me...what a shame! If I had a nickel for every time someone has told me how fantastic I look believe me...I would be one rich woman! I can't tell you the feeling that I have when I go shopping....I tried on a jacket yesterday that was a MEDIUM...and it fit me perfectly! I don't think I ever wore a medium in my LIFE!!!!!!!!!! Life is a bowl of cherries these days...and I'm the whipped cream! (lo fat, of course!). Life is good...and so am I. No...I take that back. Life is WONDERFUL...and so am I. I miss all of you... immensely...but because of all of you this journey I started 4 years ago has taken me places I would never have dreamed of before. And there is no end in sight....I've adopted the attitude that I can do anything. And I know that I can. And will!! All my love to all....if you get up to Western New York please give me a buzz....I will always make time for you!

If you go to obesityhelp.com and go to forum and select New York you can try to find a meeting where you are located.

Hello Mssfire,

It is so nice to see that you are doing well and have life by the horns ( or shall we say by the reins). That is the wonderful thing about the internet where you can be so far away and yet be so close.

Good luck on your search for a new group, it always helps to be able to keep in check with someone that has walked in your shoes. Maybe you can teach them a thing or two!!!

Always know you will be welcome here and that we are just a few keystrokes away.

Good Luck, and keep in touch,

Jamie
