Hi - I made the big decision to have the tummy tuck. I have to have a hysterectomy so I'm killing two birds with one stone. Has anybody done both at the same time & how did you do - any advice? I'm looking forward to having the tummy blubber gone but am also a little scared. I'd love to here from others who had the tuck to help me prepare for it. Good and bad I want to know. Thanks - Darla

Hi Darla,

Sorry I can't help you with this area, but I just wanted to jump on the bandwagon and wish you well in your search and operations. I am sure you will make out just fine and hope someone will jump in to help with some answers.

Good luck,

Jamie

79bye Hey Darla, I had the tummy tuck by Dr. Allam and once again I had didn't have any problems. I did sleep in a recliner chair for maybe close to two weeks. I did try the bed a few times but found the recliner was a lot easier for me. I didn't have any complications with either the bypass or the tummy tuck. Just make sure you get that garment that is recommended to you and wear it as long as you can. I found that I wore it longer then I was told I think it became just part of my wardrobe. com.hap26

Good luck and please keep us updated.

I know you will be SO happy after you do the tummy tuck...can't help you with the hysterectomy end of it, but I had my 2 year anniversary for my tummy tuck on 1-9-08, and my 4 year anniversary for the gastric bypass on 5/10/08 and have never regretted either decision. My recovery from the tummy tuck was not as quick as it was from the bypass, but I would still recommend it to anyone. I LOVE my flat belly....I went from a size 48 jeans down to a 36...and for the first time in my life that I can remember I tuck in my shirts, wear belts, and actually know I look GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go for it girl....and wear those tight jeans and tuck in those shirts...you earned it!

Hey Sissy. I had a tummy tuck and 3 hernias repaired at the same time. The surgery was a breeze, but had a few problems afterwards. I didn't heal well and had to be put back in the hospital for wound cleaning and eventually everything came out great and I would do that again in a heartbeat just like the bypass. You made it through the lap band, I know you'll come through this with flying colors too. Good Luck
