OK. Everyone knows times are tight. I have given away probobly thousands of dollars worth of clothes to those in need. Now, I'm in need and I thought this would be the best place to ask for help since that's what this site is about and we are really all like a big extended family. I have no Spring/Summer clothes and it's been awfully warm for the sweaters I do have, but I continue to wear them since money is tight. If any of you could come to my aid I would be forever in your debt.
Thank you!
Isabel

Isabel why not let people know what size you will need. I also think you might want to include your height so that pants won't be up to your ankles. ;)
I hear you about tossing out the old clothes and buying new clothes for when we reach different stages of weight loss. I used to do a lot of shopping when they ran sales in the stores.

I think I'm a size 12. I am 5'5".
I heard there is a great consignment shop in Quogue-Maybe you could try that?
I am going thru the same thing right now and I hate to spend the money on things that "hopefully" won't fit in a few weeks.
I also have work clothes to contend with-Getting dressed has become very difficult

That's just it. It kills me to spend the money with gas over $4 a gallon and fuel oil at over $4 a gallon it seems so rediculous to spend good money on clothes that don't fit in a month. I tried to pick up some tops last night and they were cheap, but I just could not do it. I think I'm going to try ebay.fingscrssed

Why not try sales when they have them in stores like Fashion Bug. They sometimes have buy one and get the second one for $1
I have gotten some nice things from there. :D

Isabel,
Have you tried thrift shops? There are a number of them around, and I'm sure almost every town has one or two. I know that Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) has one in Watermill and I have seen designer clothes there with the original tag still on. You have to hit it right, because some people go there on a daily/weekly basis and they can end up with some very nice clothes. There are a bunch around and not only do you benefit from possibly getting some nice things, you are usually helping out some kind of charity also. That can be a win/win situation, for both you and the shop. Some days, they have sales where you can fill a shopping bag for an outrageously low price.
Try it out and see what you can find. It can't hurt to look and if you are at the right place at the right time, you could make out great.
Good luck,
Jamie
