Hey everyone,
Where the heck are you? There are a lot of guests lurking in the depths of cyberspace, why don't you come out and say hi? We won't bite, I promise. Things seem to have slowed down a bit and that means it's time to start chatting it up again.
Doesn't anyone have a topic that might spark a few posts?
How is everyone doing with keeping on track? Now that Spring is coming what are your ideas on new outings, etc? Come on and let's get things going again, OK? Regina has really been trying to keep things buzzing, Lets not let all of her hard work be for nothing.
Please, let's get posting,
Jamie

Jamie,
Thanks for your efforts! I have an question to throw out there. Now that the weather seems to be getting nicer fingscrssed, does anyone have any place they like to go on walks, like nature preserves, or trails? We have a bunch out here on the North Fork of the Island that I love to explore, but am always curious as to what else is out there? Also if anyone would like trail maps for the trails here on the NF let me know and I can bring some in to the next support group!

Hi Darby I think that would be a great idea to bring them to our meeting this month. Someone might just want them.
It's funny that you just talked about walking I was sitting here thinking I wonder who lives near me to do this. I would love to get out there and walk I just hate doing it by myself. Oh shoot I can ask Bobbie if she wants to do it. As I was typing this I thought of her now that her knees are done she can walk. :)

Hey Darby,
That's a great idea. I will also see if I can get something together for the South Fork and if I find out anything, I'll try to put them together for the next meeting. I am pretty sure that they have some nice ones on Shelter Island, so if anyone is familiar with that area please bring them as well.
See everybody, it wasn't that painful was it? come on every one, let's keep coming up with great ideas like Darby.
Thanks,
Jamie

I do check the web site and read the questions and answers from all of you. I like the idea of a picnic and I do think the DJ would be a fun addition. I was banded in December 2007 and have yet come to a meeting although every time I get the announcement I say I am going and then don't. Next meeting on the 20th of May and would really like to meet all of you in person.
Keep posting - it keeps everyone in touch.

WOOOO HOOOOOOOO We would love to meet you at this months meeting. Please try your best to come. Mark your calendar for the 20 of this month and don't forget to mark it for Aug 10 our picnic. Don't forget to go vote and post in the Picnic thread and the DJ poll. How about telling us about your surgery and how much you have lost. Ask us any questions or just tell us about your journey. Thanks for posting.
Its great to see that mine and Jamie's hard work is paying off.

Hello,
We would welcome you to our meeting and I really believe you would get something out of it to boot. We really have a great bunch of losers here, and we all feel, the more the merrier!!!
How are you doing as far as keeping on track with your weight loss and goals so far? Have you had any bumps in the road or are you on pretty even ground? Have you kept up on your Dr.s visits? Please tell us about your journey so far and let us know if you need to ask any questions. Being a lapbander myself (June 28, 2007) I would be interested if you have found your "sweet spot" yet. There are so many things involved with these procedures that are common to both groups that I'm sure you will get advice from all.
Please come to the support meeting, we have them on the third Tuesday of each month at the Hampton Bays Library at 6pm., if you are a new and 6:30 if you are a regular. You can find the directions on the website if you need them.
Thank you for your post and please keep on posting,
Jamie

Hi everyone,
For those who don't know me, my name is Cathy and I had my gastric bypass surgery on February 22, 2007. I lost 150 pounds, but have crept up 20 pounds, but as back down by 10....so I'm working hard getting back on track.
I was reading about finding people to walk with. I am alone, it seems, but maybe someone lives in the Moriches area can connect with me. Also my family lives on the North Fork (where I was raised), and I'm there all the time, and it would be fun to connect with someone from my "hometown."
Is anyone game? Even if we did it together once a week, at least to get started, it would be a great way to reconnect to someone from the "group" of us, and also try to get to know the "newbies" and try to motivate them, while they motivate me too!
My e-mail is sarrah345@aol.com, and anyone interested, please e-mail me! I'd love a walking buddy or buddies!!!!
Hugs,
Cathy

Hi a1catail,
Thank you for posting your answer in regards to the picnic. It should be a great time for all, and that is a good thing because Regina is working so hard to put this thing together. It is hard to get everyone to answer and commit, but one at a time will eventually add up and I hope we get a whole bunch of losers together for a fun event.
I don't recognize your user name, do you come to the meetings? I hope that if you don't, you will give serious consideration, because it is well worth while and we even manage to have some fun in the mix. Are you a bypass or lapband patient? How are you coming with your progress? Please post a little blurb to let everyone know how you are doing and your feelings on things that effect you.
Hope to meet you at the meeting on May 20th at 6:30 at the Hampton Bays Library.
Thanks for posting,
Jamie

Hi again, a1catail,
Sorry I didn't answer your question about the food. We have been talking about bringing the food you want to cook and prepare for your own family, but maybe bring a dessert to be shared with everyone. We can just have a dessert table set up so people can try a couple of different things.
Also have you taken the poll to vote on the DJ? Please post your answer on the site so we can evaluate that item.
Thanks,
Jamie
