First of all relax. Everything is going to be fine. I had the bypass, not the band and ended up needing dental work shortly thereafter. While I did not require an antibiotic prior to my dental work I do suggest you give the office a call. There is a covering doctor and he or she will be able to give your dentist the information needed to treat you. I an tell you that if you have a choice between pills and liquid at this point in time I think I would take the liquid. Again I am not a lap bander but a bypass patient, but I found I needed to cut all my pills up or crush them for at least a month or two after surgery. I hope this helps.

Went to dentist ---all worked out, I am on antibiodic (liquid) form amoxicillin...my stomach is a little upset but I guess this is normal. I took it with some milk today----and tonight with my dinner. Anyone have any suggestions ??????????????? or has any other "bander" taken amoxicillin ????? Thanks everyone. Connie

Hi Connie,

Usually with any antibiotic you should take with food just for that reason. It normally can give you an upset stomach. You shouldn't need any special diet other than the one you are already on for your lapband. I am so glad to hear that you made out ok with the dentist.

Have you had a chance to look at the other recipes (on the the website) that I sent you? I have a couple of "after bariatric surgery" cook books that I will look through and keep you posted. Just let me know what you like and I'll research them for you. You should be getting to the stage where you are finding out what you can tolerate at this point, and what you are not quite ready for.

Let me know and I will look for some new ones.

Talk to you soon,

Jamie
