Hi Pat,
I couldn't make the support group meeting last night, but I have questions about water.
I read the paper from the meeting you handed out about water intake.
Should I be drinking as much water I can possibly can, in a day (even if I have to force it?) Is there a limit? Also, do large quantities of water help with weight loss?
Lastly, is there a difference between "plain" water and water with Crystal Light in it? Or is fluid whether it be plain water, or Crystal Light considered "the same?" I've heard a rumor that plain water "differs" from Crystal Light.
I would have asked you these questions last night, but I couldn't be there.
Any answers you have for me would be great!
I'm doing really great! You'd be surprised if you saw me! Hopefully, in June!!!!

I made this post awhile ago and I don't know why Pat hasn't responded????
If anyone knows the answers to the questions I asked, could you please help and let me know to the best of your knowledge?
I'd really appreciate it!

I am sure Pat has a good reason why she hasn't answered your questions Cathy. Maybe she has just been very busy. When we ask questions here and address them to the professionals, we need to remember that they have a job and might not always get to our message as much as they might like to.
Now with that being said maybe I can help you.
I am not Pat but I can tell you what I know if that will help.
First, you should drink as much water as you can especially in the warm weather. NO, YOU SHOULD NEVER FORCE IT. In other words, you don't have to over do it Cathy. Just make sure you get enough. The paper that Pat handed out explained signs of dehydration that is what you want to avoid. If any of those signs start happening to you then you are already dehydrated. So, get the fluid in you.
The questions were brought up about crystal light at our meeting. In fact, I think I was the one who brought it up. It is ok to have. It is made with water and has no caffeine so it is ok to drink. So if you are asking is Crystal Light ok to have I will tell you YES that is what Pat said that it is Ok to have.

Hi Kathy
Sorry for the delay in gettng back to you. As far as water goes... the recommendations that you get about 64 ounces of fluid in per day. Fluid is defined as water, crystal light, juice, etc ( as long as it is not a fluid that dehydrates you coffee, alcohol). There are situations where you can drink to much so stick to the 64ounces.
Pat
