hi Pat,

Which calcium supplement should we be taking cacium caltrate or calcium citrate? And what is the difference?

Thanks,
Karen

Hi Karen
you should be taking calcium citrate. I think that calcium caltrate is a brand name. I was told that those of you who still need the chewable calcium (less than three months post op) that Wild by Nature in Hampton bays sells the chewable calcium.

Hi Pat,

I am 4 weeks post-op and am having such a difficult time with my vitamins.

The Flinstone's vitamins (with iron) are so HARD for me to get down because they taste so BAD! I've been swallowing them instead of chewing them. Is that a bad thing? Or do you have another idea or ideas of an alternative of a vitamin that doesn't taste so bad, or is maybe really small in size?

I'm having the same trouble with the calcium citrate. I bought some liquid calcium citrate on bariatriceating.com and I can sort of get it down. It's not easy....but I've heard of Caltrate "petite" capsules. Is it too soon for me to try to take those instead?

I want to take the vitamins I'm supposed to without fail, but my tastes have changed SO MUCH, that it's hard to tolerate things that I never thought would be a problem for me.

Luckily my sublingual B-12 is palatable.

I looked all around in Wal-Mart today, but their vitamin selection is pretty poor (in Riverhead). Any suggestions?

Would you kindly respond?
Thanks a million!

Hi Pat,

Do you remember the name of the company that had those samples from the February meeting that were frozen protein pops?

I tried one and they aren't so bad.

I'm just having such a difficult time with getting protein in that I'm desperate now.

If you could post the name of those for me, it would be GREAT!

Thanks a million,
