Hello Everyone......

I haven't posted anything since my last one which was asking for directions. I have been really busy and felt kind of out of place since I don't really know all of you. You all seem to know each other very well. I am a very shy person so I usually keep quiet. I did make it to the meeting on the 20th but didn't talk to too many people. I just listened. I did talk to Jamie, I sat next to her. Everyone is really nice and doesn't seem shy..lol. I would like to get to know you all and be able to chit chat or ask any questions. I have decided to have the gastric bypass and I am very interested in other peoples stories and how it all went for them. Sorry if this is a little long..lol.....Bye for now

Don't worry about being shy with this group. I'm very shy also but Dr. Allam's losers will help you get past that very quickly. We are all here for each other if you have any questions or need to talk just let us know. Congratulations on deciding to have the surgery, I know it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Awwwwww Colleen I wish you would have come up to me to tell me who you were. The meeting was so so crowed that night that I didn't get to see or talk to a lot of people that I wanted to. Hey and let me tell you this lot of us didn't know each other when we first started either. The only two people I knew were Miranda and Esa. I met all the rest by going to the meetings and well doing things on here for Dr Allam Like this message board and the newsletter. Which I have to get started on LOL:D I did get on the computer this morning saying that is what I was going to do but I ended up coming here and haven't left yet LOL. So don't be shy Colleen just jump right in with us Losers. Anything you want to know you can e-mail me at regg1@optonline.net leave a message here privately if you want too. Or you can call me @ 924-9087. That goes for anyone I will try to help you as best I can. I can tell you what I do and what I don't do. The meeting was extraordinarily crowded, so it was really hard for any of us to get to know anyone but the person sitting next to us! You are right, we are not shy. I think that comes from a few things.....we boldly went where others fear to tread......we have a new lease on life.......and we have all been going to these meetings for a while. I am not shy, but tended, in the past, to hide behind my extra layers, being cautious as to who I would allow in. I think that is a very normal thing we go through, since we are acutely aware that we are not often accepted in all walks of society. That will change!! I have become a little bolder, and some may say a little boisterous, but...HEY.....it's ME! I am amazed at how much more FUN my life is now! I have sorted out the things that are not important, or waste my time, and I LIVE!! I am excited for you that you will be in this same place soon! It's the best thing I have ever done! I am a huge advocate of this surgery, because I have seen, firsthand, the miraculous effect it has had on my life. Thank you all for your kind words. You are all so friendly and that makes me feel so much more comfortable. I will definitely be getting in touch with some of you. I have alot of questions and fears still. I have my first appointment with Dr Allam on May 5th. I am very excited and can't wait to talk to him. The only thing that makes me nervous is getting the approval from my insurance company. I have this feeling they won't cover it, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. did you get a date? everything that was posted before me is said perfect. These girls know what they are talking about.

My daughter just had the surgery June 10th and her friend is having it on July 1st.

Hi Miranda

I don't have a date yet. I am getting all the tests done that are required and I am almost done with that. What's holding me up right now is waiting to hear from my insurance company to see if they are going to pre authorize me. They wanted evaluations done first because Dr. Allam is not in my network so I need pre authorization for it to be covered. I am crossing my fingers!!!....How is your daughter doing? I hope all is well. I am having surgery on my umbilical hernia on June 21st. I have been putting it off, but my surgeon said it can't wait any longer it's gotten really big. So that's all for now. I will let you know if I get approved and get a date. Bye for now!!.....

Hello Colleen glad to hear that things are moving right along for you. Also sorry to hear that you have to get surgery done. I hope that everything goes good for you. Keep us all posted when you get your sugery date. There is a place now on the message board that you can tell everyone your date. This way we all can wish you well. Ok keep us posted it was great to see you posting on here. :)
